  • Standard protocols : ONVIF, RTSP and RTMP let encoders register with mainstream NVRs and VMS platforms
  • Multi-channel decoding : a 16-channel HDMI decoder or a 16-way platform feeds the wall

Beyond 100 m from the head end, use an optical transceiver (uncompressed, interference-proof). Only add an encoder at step 3 when the stream has to reach a platform or cross a network.

FAQ

Do you support GB28181 and ONVIF?

Our encoders support ONVIF, RTSP and RTMP, so they register with mainstream NVRs and VMS platforms. GB28181 is a national standard that varies by model - tell us which platform you run and we will confirm before shipping.

How much does H.265 actually save?

As a rule of thumb, about half the bitrate of H.264 at equal quality; real numbers depend on scene complexity and motion. Use that for storage sizing, then verify with a one-week trial on your own cameras.

Is a soft picture a transmission problem?

Not necessarily. Sharpness comes from the camera and lens. Our job is to deliver the picture intact: transceivers are uncompressed, encoders run at the bitrate you set. If the source is soft, no transport will sharpen it.

How many channels per optical transceiver?

It depends on the model: 3G-SDI transceivers are typically 1 or 2 channels, while HDMI models such as the PIS series offer 1/4/8/16 channels. For many cameras, a multi-channel unit saves both fiber and rack space.

Will lightning damage the equipment?

Fiber carries no current, so it does not conduct induced surges - one of the main reasons to choose it over copper for long outdoor runs. Power and grounding still have to follow site practice.
