Distributed nodes do encode, so there is latency. For keyboard-and-mouse sensitive seats choose the KVM model (ZY-EMX2000-S); pure monitoring walls can use standard nodes and cost less.

FAQ

Is there latency with a distributed system?

Yes. Distributed nodes encode, so latency is in the millisecond range and varies with resolution, bitrate and network conditions. For operator seats we use the KVM model. We recommend a bench test with demo units before committing.

How should the network be planned?

Put video on its own VLAN and budget tens of Mbps per 4K stream (H.265), then size the switch for the total plus roughly 30 percent headroom. Confirm actual bitrates on your own equipment.

Can it work alongside an existing matrix?

Yes. Distributed nodes take HDMI in, so a legacy matrix output simply feeds them. You can migrate in stages: move a few sources first, verify stability, then switch the rest.

How many screens can it drive?

In a distributed architecture the limit is network capacity rather than chassis slots, so you expand by adding nodes. We will size it against your source and screen list.
